Two separate steps
In every repeating situation there is a first thought and a next move. They are not the same thing. You can think “just this once” and still go for the walk.
Four patterns
Old thought, old action: the full loop. Old thought, new action: an override — the most important skill. Good thought, old action: a knowing gap. Good thought, good action: a default that already works.
Why this matters
